In the note author examines history of spread in historical literature XIXth-XXth centuries version about founding city Kochubiiv (Odesa) by nobleman Bohdan Kotsiuba-Yakushynskyi and origin name «Kotsiubiiv», which is sometimes used Odesa XVth-XVIth on Internet. The researcher makes a conclusion probable mistake mentioned inappropriateness use «Kotsiubiiv».
